The trialling of molecular tools for monitoring plankton communities is launched

The Éolien en Mer SIG is launching a study to compare molecular tools for identifying plankton based on DNA analysis with the conventional taxonomy method.

The study will be conducted at the time the phytoplankton and zooplankton communities are monitored for the environmental baseline for the Dieppe Le Tréport offshore wind farm. Its objective is to establish an optimized protocol for carrying out routine molecular analyses over the long term.
